Medical school can be a time of forming and confusing identity. As our identification with being medical professionals strengthens, our grip on our individuality can weaken. Before I left for CARMs interviews I was struggling with how differentiate myself but also with questions about who I am outside of medicine and what I wanted for my future. I made this piece thinking about the old and the new. A return to my love of crafts and learning the new skill of embroidery. Reminiscing about the past few years and looking forward to residency. An internal organ and external natural flowers. I was procrastinating practicing for trying to capture in an elevator pitch my entire story.
