This is an original piece I composed over the past few days. I hope this piece evokes feelings of melancholy, which surprisingly is the dominant feeling for me during this time of social distancing. Every day feels almost the same and it lacks the emotional highs and lows of normal life, which has itself been something to get used to. I wanted to compose something for the theme “The Future is Now” because 1) a piece of art makes me remember the time when I experienced it and this is a historic time and 2) I have no talent in drawing or writing! I haven’t written anything for about 5 years and it’s weird having the time, lack of distractions, and motivation again to be creative.
