Sheep Magic

Mariel Talabis (College of Medicine)

This piece was based off a photo I saw online of a little sheep in a field. It was started in the first few moments of the pandemic, which was also the summer before I started medical school. This is one of the most complex pieces I’ve done so far. I sometimes think of how many stitches went into forming the blades of grass or growing the sheep’s wool. Each stitch representing a moment where I chose to take care of myself.
